Launched on 17th January 2020, our very first collaboration brew turned out to be an interesting one. Spurred by Sanjay’s love for porter, LCM reached out to the good folk at DUA to pitch a crazy idea.
What if LCM takes their knowledge in honey and marries that with DUA’s mastery over malts and hops?
The answer to that became the Spice Boys.
We used a varietal of honey, that was different from what we used in our flagship meads, caramelised it low and slow and let the yeast get to work after adding the mash made from dark malt, cinnamon, star anise and cloves. At 6%, what you have is a rather sessionable porter with lots of playful notes from the spices and the honey, but isn’t cloying to the palette.
